In 2018 Chris and Shannon were celebrating their birthdays and were looking for something a little different to make their party memorable. They came up with the idea of having big letters all lit up and so started to look to hire some. This is when they found the problem. It was proving really difficult to find letters to hire.
Not being ones to be put off by a challenge, they persevered and finally found some light letters they could hire. The party celebrations were a huge success and many guests commented on the fabulous light letters. Chris and Shannon realised there was an untapped business niche and soon afterwards Big Light Letters was formed.
What started off as a side hustle soon morphed into a fully fledged full time business. Not only was demand high but Chris and Shannon designed the business to operate using the latest technology which made the business very efficient. Customers could order online using a simple ‘pick and click’ system.
Today Big Light Letters has expanded to include a huge selection of light up letters, numbers, symbols, shimmer walls, backdrops, neon signs and a few huge flower walls. Their statement letters and numbers have been to parties and events all over Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. From proposals to weddings, baby showers to milestone birthdays, gala balls and formals, to end-of-year soirees and corporate events, Big Light Letters have been used to add that something special to multiple occasions.

The franchise partners role is to deliver and install the big light letters prior to the event and then pick up and pack away after the event.
Initially the franchise partner can deliver and pick up hires themselves, but if they want to grow the business, over time they can expand and have staff take on this role.
